Possible Causes
Bent lid hinge, Loose hinge screws, Warped lid shell, Oversized or incorrectly fitted sealing ring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before adjusting hinges or lid components.
- Inspect hinge: Open the lid fully and check the hinge arms and screws. Tighten any loose screws with the appropriate screwdriver.
- Check sealing ring fit: Ensure the silicone ring is fully seated and not doubled over or twisted, which can prevent proper closure.
- Test without ring: Temporarily remove the sealing ring and try closing the lid (do not cook like this). If it closes easily, the ring may be the wrong size or deformed and should be replaced.
- Check for warping: Sight along the edge of the lid and body to see if either appears warped. Warped parts usually require replacement.
- When to replace: If alignment cannot be corrected by tightening or ring replacement, install a new lid assembly or lid hinge bracket.
