Steam constantly vents from the steam release valve and pressure never builds.

Possible Causes
Valve left in venting position, Worn valve silicone gasket, Food residue preventing closure, Damaged valve spring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the steam plume; it can cause severe burns.
- Check valve position: Ensure the steam release knob is turned to the 'Sealing' position for pressure cooking.
- Clean valve: After cooling, remove the valve cap and clean all parts with warm soapy water. Ensure the silicone gasket is free of residue.
- Inspect gasket and spring: Check the small silicone seal and spring (if fitted) for wear, cracks, or deformation. Replace if damaged.
- Reassemble correctly: Refit the valve components in the correct order as per the Lakeland manual.
- When to replace: If the valve still leaks in the sealing position, replace the complete steam release valve assembly.
