Possible Causes
Worn or incorrectly fitted silicone sealing ring, Debris on lid rim, Warped lid, Damaged inner pot rim
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not place your face or hands over escaping steam. Turn off and unplug the cooker if leakage is severe.
- Stop the program: Cancel cooking and allow the cooker to depressurise naturally or via the valve, following the manual.
- Clean sealing surfaces: Once cool, remove the sealing ring and clean the lid groove and cooker rim thoroughly. Even small food particles can prevent a proper seal.
- Refit or replace ring: Reinstall the ring evenly, ensuring it is not twisted. If it appears stretched, cracked, or flattened, replace it with a genuine Lakeland sealing ring.
- Check pot rim: Inspect the top edge of the inner pot for dents or warping that could break the seal. Replace the pot if damaged.
- When to replace: Persistent leaks after cleaning and ring replacement may indicate a warped lid, which should be replaced as a complete lid assembly.
