Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before inspecting the lid or internal components. Never bypass safety switches.
Step-by-step checks:
- Check lid closure: Open and firmly close the lid several times. Ensure the lid arrow aligns with the body mark and that the lid is fully rotated/latched as per the MasterPro manual.
- Inspect lid lock: With the unit unplugged, examine the lid lock tongue and latch on the body. Look for bent plastic, food residue, or deformation. Clean with a damp cloth and a soft brush to remove dried food around the latch.
- Test lid switch response: Plug in the unit, close the lid, and gently press down on the lid center while starting a program. If E1 disappears when pressing, the lid-closed microswitch or its mount is misaligned.
- Realign the lid switch bracket: Unplug the cooker, remove the top cover screws (usually under the lid trim ring), and locate the small microswitch near the hinge. Loosen its mounting screws and adjust so the lid cam fully depresses the switch when closed, then retighten.
- Inspect wiring harness: Check the 2–3 wire connector from the lid switch to the main control PCB for loose plugs, corrosion, or broken insulation. Reseat the connector firmly.
When to stop: If the plastic lid lock is cracked or the switch body is broken, replacement of the lid lock assembly is required. If you are not comfortable opening the housing, contact a qualified technician.
