Possible Causes

Overheated base due to dry pot, Faulty bottom NTC sensor, Poor contact between sensor and inner base plate, Grease or debris insulating sensor from base

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and let the cooker cool fully. Do not touch the hot inner plate.

Immediate checks:

  • Check for dry cooking: Confirm there was sufficient liquid in the inner pot. Running the cooker empty or with very thick food can trigger E3. Add adequate liquid and avoid using the unit without the inner pot.
  • Clean the base: Remove the inner pot and wipe the heating plate and central temperature sensor area with a soft, damp cloth. Remove burnt-on food or oil that may cause hot spots.
  • Inspect the inner pot: Ensure the bottom of the MasterPro inner pot is flat and not warped. A warped pot can cause uneven contact and localized overheating.
  • Sensor contact check: With the unit unplugged, gently press the central spring-loaded sensor pin in the middle of the heating plate. It should move smoothly and spring back. If stuck, clean around it carefully and free any debris.

Advanced inspection:

  • Remove the bottom cover (after unplugging) to access the bottom NTC sensor clipped to the underside of the heating plate. Check that it is firmly clamped and that its wires are intact and connected to the control board.

When to replace: If E3 recurs with normal use and the sensor is properly seated and clean, the bottom NTC sensor may be faulty and should be replaced. Persistent E3 after sensor replacement may indicate a control board issue.
