Possible Causes

Open-circuit main heating element, Loose heating element terminals, Burned relay on control board, Faulty thermal cutout in series with heater

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool. Do not work on live circuits.

Functional check:

  • Start a sauté or manual high-heat program and feel (without touching metal) if the base begins to warm within 2–3 minutes. If not, the heater circuit is likely open.

Internal inspection (for competent DIYers):

  • Remove the bottom cover to access the circular heating element under the inner pot.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the two main heater terminals for burned connectors or loose spade lugs. Reseat or replace damaged connectors.
  • Continuity test: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the heating element terminals. A typical value is 20–60 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
  • Inspect thermal cutouts: Check any inline thermal fuses or thermostats for continuity. Replace if open.

Board-level issues: If the heater and cutouts test good, the heater relay or triac on the main control board may be defective. Board repair or replacement is recommended and should be done by a professional.
