E8
MasterPro Abnormal Pressure Rise / Overpressure Protection

E8 error appears and the cooker stops; often associated with excessive pressure or steam leakage.

Possible Causes

Blocked steam release valve, Blocked anti-block shield, Stuck float valve, Faulty pressure relief valve, Excessive food foaming blocking vent

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to depressurize naturally. Keep hands and face away from the steam release area.

Cleaning steps:

  • Remove steam release valve: Lift off or unscrew the steam release knob. Clean it thoroughly with warm soapy water, ensuring all small holes are clear.
  • Clean anti-block shield: Remove the metal or silicone anti-block shield from the underside of the lid. Scrub away any starch or food residue.
  • Check float valve: Push the float valve up and down from inside the lid. It should move freely. Clean around it and ensure the silicone cap is intact.
  • Inspect pressure relief valve: Examine the safety relief valve (often a separate spring-loaded valve). Ensure it is not stuck closed by dried food.

Usage adjustments:

  • Avoid overfilling the inner pot (stay below the MAX line, and below 1/2 for foamy foods like beans or grains).
  • Add a small amount of oil when cooking foamy foods to reduce foaming.

If E8 recurs: Replace the steam release valve assembly and float valve set. Persistent overpressure errors may indicate a faulty pressure sensor or control board, requiring professional service.
