Possible Causes

Broken lid lock hook, Failed lid lock solenoid, Misaligned lock cam, Control board not energizing lock

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not use the multicooker for pressure cooking if the lid does not lock securely. This is a serious safety hazard.

Checks:

  • Start a pressure program and listen for the lid lock engaging (click). If there is no click and the lid can be opened, cancel the program immediately.
  • Inspect the lock hook and mating slot for broken plastic or missing parts.

Internal inspection:

  • Remove the top cover to access the lid lock solenoid and mechanism.
  • Check that the solenoid moves the lock hook when power is applied (qualified persons only).

Resolution: Replace the lid lock assembly if any part is broken or the solenoid coil is open. If the solenoid is good but never receives power, the control board may be defective and should be replaced. Do not bypass the lock.
