Possible Causes

Damaged or mis-seated silicone sealing ring, Debris on lid or pot rim, Faulty steam release valve not closing, Worn float valve or cap

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Keep hands and face away from escaping steam. Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool before disassembly.

Sealing checks:

  • Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. Inspect for cracks, stretching, or deformation. Replace if any damage is found.
  • Clean the sealing ring, lid groove, and pot rim thoroughly to remove oil and food residue.
  • Ensure the sealing ring is fully and evenly seated in the lid groove, with no twists.

Valve checks:

  • Verify that the steam release valve is set to the 'Sealing' position (if applicable) and that it moves freely.
  • Inspect the float valve and its silicone cap; replace if the cap is hardened, cracked, or missing.

Resolution: In most cases, replacing the sealing ring and cleaning the lid components restores proper pressure. If steam still escapes from the valve area, replace the steam release valve assembly.
