Possible Causes
Open or shorted lid temperature sensor, Loose lid sensor connector in the lid harness, Damaged lid harness where it enters the housing, Failed control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool.
- Inspect lid area: Remove the lid and check the underside for visible sensor components near the steam release and float valve. Ensure no food residue or moisture is trapped around the sensor.
- Check lid harness: On models with a wired lid, gently inspect the cable where it enters the lid and body. Look for cuts, kinks, or exposed wires.
- Access internal connectors: Remove the outer housing screws (and bottom cover if needed) to access the lid harness connector on the main board. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Dry and clean: If there is moisture, dry the area thoroughly and clean any corrosion with isopropyl alcohol.
- Test operation: Reassemble and run a water-only test. If E4 persists, the lid sensor assembly or main control board will likely need replacement.
Warning: Do not pull hard on the lid cable; it can break internal conductors and worsen the fault.
