Possible Causes
Steam leak at sealing ring, Steam release valve not set to Sealing, Damaged float valve or gasket, Insufficient liquid to generate steam
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If steam is escaping, keep hands and face away from the vent. Unplug the cooker if necessary.
- Check steam release position: Ensure the steam release handle is set to the Sealing position, not Venting.
- Inspect sealing ring: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. Check for cracks, deformation, or food residue. Clean thoroughly or replace if worn.
- Check float valve: Ensure the float valve moves freely and the small silicone cap is intact and seated properly.
- Verify liquid level: Open the lid (after pressure is released) and confirm there is enough liquid. Add more if needed.
- Test again: Reassemble the lid components, set the valve to Sealing, and run a short water test. If the unit still cannot reach pressure, inspect the lid for warping or damage and replace the sealing ring or lid assembly as needed.
Warning: Never force the lid open while the float valve is up or pressure remains inside.
