Slow Pressure Build
Unit takes much longer than usual to come to pressure.
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Minor steam leak at sealing ring, Low initial water temperature, Clogged anti-block shield restricting steam flow to pressure sensor, Weak heating element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of steam vents while troubleshooting.
- Check for visible leaks: Observe the lid area during preheat. If steam is escaping, inspect the sealing ring and valve as described in other entries.
- Clean lid components: Remove and clean the anti-block shield, steam release valve, and float valve.
- Use hot liquid: Starting with hot water or broth can reduce preheat time.
- Evaluate heating: If the unit heats very slowly even on Sauté, the heating element may be weakening and should be tested and replaced if necessary.
Warning: Do not overfill the pot; excessive volume can also slow pressure build and cause unsafe operation.
