Possible Causes
Inner pot not seated correctly on heating plate, Lid not fully closed or misaligned, Lid position sensor switch stuck or damaged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker and allow it to cool completely before inspecting the lid or inner pot.
- Check inner pot seating: Remove the stainless steel inner pot, wipe the bottom dry, and inspect the central contact area and outer rim. Reinstall the pot, ensuring it sits flat on the aluminum heating plate and can rotate slightly but does not rock.
- Inspect lid closure: Open and close the lid several times. Make sure the hinge is not obstructed by food debris and that the lid locks with a clear click. On detachable-lid models, remove the lid, clean the hinge and locking tabs, then reinstall firmly.
- Clean lid sensor area: On many Midea multicookers, a small plastic pin or metal tab on the lid presses a microswitch in the body. Wipe this area with a damp cloth and ensure the pin moves freely. Do not use excessive force.
- Test again: Plug the unit back in, select a basic program (e.g., Rice) and press Start. If E0 persists, the lid position sensor or related wiring may be faulty and requires professional service.
