Possible Causes

Insufficient liquid in pot, Food stuck and burning on bottom, Faulty overheat detection circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker. If under pressure, do not force the lid open. Follow the manual to release pressure safely.

  • Check liquid level: After pressure is fully released and the float valve drops, open the lid and verify there is enough liquid. Most Midea pressure programs require at least the minimum fill line.
  • Remove burnt food: Take out the inner pot and soak if food is stuck. Clean the bottom thoroughly; burnt residue can cause hot spots and trigger E3.
  • Inspect gasket and lid: Ensure the silicone sealing ring is properly installed and not twisted. Poor sealing can cause abnormal heating and sensor readings.
  • Test with water only: Add 3–4 cups of water and run a pressure program. If E3 still appears, the overheat sensor circuit or main PCB may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
