Possible Causes
Blocked steam release valve, Clogged anti-block shield or float valve, Excessive foaming food (e.g., porridge, beans) blocking pressure path
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker. Allow pressure to release naturally if possible. Never cover or force the steam release.
- Manually release pressure: Once safe per the manual, move the steam release valve to Vent to ensure all pressure is released. Wait until the float valve drops.
- Clean steam path: Remove the steam release valve cap, anti-block shield, and float valve (if removable). Wash all parts with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Ensure all holes are clear.
- Avoid overfilling: For foamy foods, fill only to the recommended level and add a spoon of oil to reduce foaming.
- Test with water: Reassemble and run a water-only pressure test. If E8 still appears, the overpressure sensor or safety valve may be malfunctioning and should be inspected by a technician.
