Possible Causes
Worn or stretched silicone sealing ring, Food residue on lid or pot rim, Misaligned lid or damaged lid rim
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands and face away from escaping steam. Do not attempt to force the lid closed under pressure.
- Stop and depressurize: Cancel the program and allow pressure to release naturally or via the steam release valve per the manual.
- Clean sealing surfaces: Remove the sealing ring and inner lid. Clean the ring, lid groove, and pot rim thoroughly.
- Inspect sealing ring: Look for cracks, flattening, or hard spots. Replace the ring if more than 12–18 months old or visibly damaged.
- Reinstall correctly: Ensure the ring is evenly seated all around the lid. Test again with water only.
