Buttons on the control panel are unresponsive or require very hard pressing.

Safety first: Unplug the cooker before working on the control panel.

Steps to fix:

• Clean surface: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove grease. Do not flood with liquid.
• Inspect overlay: If the plastic overlay is lifting, dirt may have entered. In most cases, the entire keypad assembly must be replaced.
• Replace keypad: Remove the front panel, disconnect the keypad ribbon, and peel off the old membrane. Clean the surface and apply the new Morphy Richards keypad, aligning carefully.
• Test all buttons: Reassemble and verify that each button responds with a light press.
