Possible Causes
Failed heater relay or triac on control PCB, Broken wire to heating element, Open thermal fuse in heater circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool before opening the base. Be aware of mains-voltage circuits.
Steps to diagnose:
- Check thermal fuse: Locate the thermal fuse attached to the heating plate or in series with the heater wiring. Test for continuity; if open, replace with the same temperature and current rating.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure all heater wires are firmly connected and not broken.
- Test heater: Measure resistance of the heating element. If within normal range, the element is likely good.
- Check control output: If comfortable with live testing and using proper isolation, verify that the control PCB is switching power to the heater when a program is running. If not, the relay/triac or PCB is faulty and should be replaced.
Warning: Live electrical testing should only be performed by qualified technicians.
