E8 error appears during pressure cooking; unit may not reach or maintain pressure.

Possible Causes
Leaking silicone sealing ring on lid, Faulty float valve or vent valve not sealing, Pressure sensor calibration drift
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to fully depressurize before opening. Keep hands away from the steam release path.
Steps to check:
- Inspect sealing ring: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. Check for cracks, hardening, or deformation. Clean it with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. If it is stiff or damaged, replace it with a genuine Morphy Richards sealing ring.
- Check float valve: Remove and clean the float valve and its silicone cap. Ensure it moves freely up and down and that the cap is not split.
- Clean steam release valve: Disassemble the steam release/pressure regulator valve (if user-removable) and clean any starch or food residue. Reassemble correctly according to the manual.
- Test with water only: Add at least 500 ml of water, close the lid, and start a pressure program. Observe whether steam leaks continuously from the lid or valve area. Continuous leakage indicates a sealing issue.
- Sensor check: If the cooker clearly reaches pressure (no leaks, float up) but still shows E8, the pressure sensor may be misreading and require replacement.
Warning: Never block or modify the safety valve to "force" pressure; this is dangerous.
