Possible Causes
Food residue jamming float valve, Pressure not fully released, Deformed float valve seal holding pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the lid open. Forcing can damage the lid and is dangerous if pressure remains.
Steps to safely release:
- Check pressure release valve: Move the valve to the vent position and wait until no steam or hissing is heard.
- Tap float gently: Using a long utensil, gently tap the float valve from the outside to help it drop. Do not use excessive force.
- Allow more cooling time: Wait an additional 20–30 minutes; internal pressure may still be slightly above ambient.
- After opening: Once safe to open, remove and clean the float valve and its silicone cap thoroughly. Replace the cap if deformed.
Warning: If the lid remains stuck and you suspect trapped pressure, contact service rather than forcing it.
