Possible Causes
Damaged or missing silicone float valve cap, Food residue preventing float from sealing, Bent float pin or misaligned float guide
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to cool and depressurize completely before working on the float valve.
Steps to fix:
- Remove float valve: From the underside of the lid, remove the retaining pin or clip and slide out the float valve.
- Clean components: Wash the float, its silicone cap, and the valve hole with warm soapy water. Remove any stuck food particles.
- Inspect silicone cap: Check the small silicone cap for splits, tears, or hardening. Replace with a Morphy Richards-compatible float valve cap if damaged.
- Check movement: Reinstall the float and ensure it moves freely up and down without sticking.
- Test operation: During a pressure cycle, confirm that the float rises and seals without continuous steam leakage.
Note: A properly working float valve is essential for safe pressure operation.
