E3
Moulinex
Overheat Protection / Dry Pot Detection
Multicooker displays E3 during preheating or shortly after starting a high-temperature program (e.g., frying, browning).

Possible Causes
Inner pot not in place, Inner pot not making good contact with heating plate, Cooking with empty or nearly empty pot, Burnt food layer insulating the sensor, Faulty overheat sensor calibration on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool. Do not add cold water to a very hot pot to avoid warping.
Corrective actions:
- Check inner pot placement: Ensure the original Moulinex bowl is installed, seated flat, and rotated so that any alignment marks match the housing. Do not use non-original or warped pots.
- Ensure sufficient contents: For frying or sautéing, always add oil or food before starting. Avoid running the cooker with an empty pot.
- Clean the heating plate: Remove the pot and gently wipe the heating plate and central sensor area with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove burnt-on residue. Dry completely.
- Inspect the inner pot bottom: Check for deformation, burnt layers, or heavy discoloration. A warped pot may not contact the sensor correctly and should be replaced.
- Restart: After cooling and cleaning, restart with a moderate amount of food/liquid and monitor. If E3 recurs quickly, the overheat sensor or control board may be faulty.
Tip: Avoid using high-heat programs with very small quantities of food; use lower temperature modes or add more liquid.
