Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure there is no pressure inside before forcing the lid closed. Use the steam release valve to depressurize.
Steps:
- Close lid firmly: Open and close the lid several times, pressing down evenly until you hear the latch click.
- Check gasket and rim: Remove the silicone gasket, clean it and the lid rim, then reinstall. Food stuck on the rim can prevent full closure.
- Inspect latch: Look for cracks or missing pieces on the plastic latch. If broken, the lid assembly or latch kit must be replaced.
- Test different modes: Some Moulinex models require the lid open for certain sauté modes. Ensure you are using the correct lid position for the selected program.
If the "Lid" message remains even when the lid is clearly locked, the lid sensor or its wiring is likely faulty and requires service.
