Possible Causes
Lid not in correct position for selected mode, Faulty lid or pressure sensor preventing program start, Stuck or failing keypad button, Firmware glitch on Nesco control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is cool and unplugged before internal checks.
- Verify mode and lid: For pressure modes, ensure the lid is locked and valve set to seal. For non-pressure modes, some models require the lid to be open or in a specific position.
- Try different modes: Test sauté or warm functions. If they work but pressure modes cancel, focus on pressure and lid sensors.
- Clean control panel: Wipe the keypad area with a slightly damp cloth to remove grease or residue that may affect button contacts.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10–15 minutes, then retry program selection.
- Sensor/board diagnosis (advanced): If the issue persists, inspect lid and pressure sensor wiring and consider control board replacement if sensors test good.
Warning: Do not attempt to bypass safety sensors to force a program to start.
