Possible Causes
Misaligned lid lock mechanism, Broken lid position microswitch, Worn or damaged lid lock pin, Loose wiring from lid lock to control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before inspecting the lid lock mechanism.
- Check lid closure: Open and close the lid several times, ensuring it aligns correctly with the body and that the lock engages with an audible click. Remove any food debris around the locking area.
- Inspect the lock pin: Look at the metal or plastic pin that engages the lock. Make sure it is not bent, broken, or obstructed. Clean the area with a damp cloth.
- Test the lid switch (basic): With the unit unplugged, press the lid lock pin or latch manually and listen for a faint click from the internal microswitch. Lack of a click may indicate a failed switch.
- Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the top cover to access the lid lock assembly and microswitch. Check that the switch actuator is being pressed fully when the lid closes and that the wiring connector is secure.
- Adjust or replace: If the lock is slightly misaligned, loosen its mounting screws and adjust position so it engages reliably. Replace the lid lock assembly or microswitch if physically damaged.
Warning: Do not bypass the lid lock switch; it is a critical safety feature that prevents opening under pressure.
