Possible Causes
Steam leak from lid or valve, Inner pot not seated correctly on heating plate, Excessive food volume preventing steam space, Weak heating element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the cooker to cool and depressurize naturally if it has built any pressure.
- Reseat inner pot: Remove and reinstall the inner pot, ensuring it sits flat on the heating plate and rotates freely.
- Reduce fill level: Ensure the food level does not exceed the maximum fill line, especially for foods that expand (rice, beans). Leave enough headspace for steam.
- Check for steam leaks: During a test run with water, observe the lid and valve area. Continuous steam escaping from anywhere other than the release valve indicates a sealing issue.
- Inspect sealing components: Clean and inspect the sealing ring, steam release valve, and float valve. Replace any worn or damaged parts.
- Heating element issues: If the unit takes an unusually long time to heat or the bottom of the pot remains lukewarm, the heating element or its control circuit may be failing and require service.
Warning: Do not overtighten or modify safety valves to stop leaks; replace faulty components instead.
