Possible Causes

Inner pot not installed, Inner pot not seated correctly, Food volume too low or no liquid, Temperature sensor detecting excessive base temperature

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool for at least 20–30 minutes before touching internal parts.

  • Check inner pot placement: Open the lid and verify the Ninja non‑stick inner cooking pot is installed and fully seated flat on the heating plate. Remove any debris or food between the pot and the heating plate.
  • Inspect for dry cooking: Ensure there is sufficient liquid in the pot for the selected function (pressure, steam, slow cook, etc.). Most Ninja multicookers require at least 1–1.5 cups of thin liquid for pressure cooking.
  • Clean the heating plate: With the unit unplugged and cool, wipe the main heating plate with a soft, dry cloth. Remove any burnt-on residue that could cause hot spots.
  • Reset the unit: After cooling and cleaning, plug the cooker back in, reinstall the inner pot correctly, add proper liquid, and run a short test on a low‑temperature function (e.g., Sear/Sauté on low) to see if E01 reappears.
  • If E01 persists: The base temperature sensor or main heating element may be faulty. Discontinue use and contact a qualified technician or Ninja support.
