Possible Causes
Blocked air vents, Fan not running in models with cooling fan, Excessive food stuck to bottom causing localized overheating, Faulty thermal cutoff or thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the unit off, unplug it, and let it cool completely before inspection.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the multicooker is on a hard, flat surface with at least several inches of clearance around all sides. Clear any obstructions from the rear and side vents.
- Inspect for burnt-on food: Remove the inner pot and check the heating plate for burnt spills. Clean gently with a damp cloth (unit unplugged and cool) and dry thoroughly.
- Test fan operation (if equipped): On models with a cooling or convection fan, start a low‑heat function and listen for the fan. If the fan does not run, the fan motor or control board may be faulty.
- Try a lower setting: After cooling and cleaning, run a low‑temperature program with adequate liquid to see if E02 returns.
- If E02 recurs quickly: The thermal cutoff, thermostat, or control board may be defective. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
