Possible Causes
Damaged silicone gasket, Steam release valve leaking, Float valve O-ring worn, Lid not fully locked, Warped lid or pot rim
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not touch the steam release area while the unit is hot or under pressure.
- Check for visible steam leaks: During preheat, observe the lid perimeter, float valve, and steam release valve. Continuous steam escaping from anywhere other than the designated vent indicates a leak.
- Inspect gasket and O-rings: After cooling, remove the lid and examine the main silicone gasket and the small O-ring on the float valve. Replace if flattened, cracked, or sticky.
- Verify valve position: Ensure the steam release valve is set to SEAL (or PRESSURE) for pressure cooking. Clean any food residue from the valve seat.
- Check pot rim: Inspect the stainless rim of the inner pot and the mating surface on the lid for dents or warping that could prevent sealing.
- Test with water only: Add 2 cups of water and run a short pressure cycle. If E08 persists with no visible leaks, the pressure sensor or control logic may be at fault.
