Possible Causes
Incorrect lid installed for selected function, Lid type sensor failure, Magnet or reed switch misalignment in lid detection system, Damaged lid harness (on hinged-lid models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is unplugged before inspecting lid sensors or hinges.
- Confirm correct lid: For Ninja Foodi-style multicookers, use the pressure lid only for pressure/steam/slow cook and the crisping lid for air fry/bake/roast. E14 often appears when the wrong lid is detected.
- Open and close lid fully: On hinged crisping lids, open the lid fully until it locks, then close firmly to ensure the lid sensor engages.
- Inspect lid magnet/sensor: Look for a small magnet in the lid edge and a corresponding sensor area on the body. Clean any grease or debris that might interfere with detection.
- Test other modes: Try a function that uses the currently installed lid. If that works but others show E14, the lid detection circuit may be partially faulty.
