Possible Causes
Starchy foods foaming (rice, beans, pasta) filled too high, Anti-clog cap partially blocked, Steam release valve contaminated with food residue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not place hands or face over the vent. Allow pressure to release fully before opening.
- Use correct fill level: For foamy foods, do not exceed the recommended MAX fill line and use oil or fat as directed in the manual.
- Clean anti-clog cap: After cooling, remove the anti-clog cap from the underside of the lid and clean thoroughly. Ensure all small holes are clear.
- Rinse steam valve: Remove the steam release valve cap and rinse under warm water to clear any trapped food.
- Use natural release: For very starchy foods, use natural pressure release instead of quick release to reduce splatter.
