Possible Causes
Damaged or missing silicone lid gasket, Steam release valve not set to SEAL, Float valve O-ring leaking, Debris on lid sealing surface
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of escaping steam during preheat.
- Check valve position: Ensure the steam release valve is turned to the SEAL or PRESSURE position for pressure cooking.
- Inspect gasket: Remove and examine the large silicone gasket. Clean it and the lid groove with warm soapy water, dry, and reinstall. Replace if stretched or cracked.
- Clean sealing surfaces: Wipe the stainless rim of the inner pot and the lid sealing surface to remove food residue.
- Check float valve: Ensure the float valve moves freely and its O-ring is intact. Replace the O-ring if worn.
