Possible Causes
Blocked pressure sensor port, Faulty pressure sensor on lid or body, Loose pressure sensor hose, Damaged wiring to pressure sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and fully depressurized before working on the lid or pressure components.
- Clean pressure sensor port: On many OBH Nordica multicookers, the pressure sensor is connected to a small metal port or channel near the steam release valve. Remove the inner lid and carefully clean any food residue from the port using a toothpick or soft brush. Do not enlarge the hole.
- Inspect silicone hose (if present): Some models use a short silicone tube between the lid and the pressure sensor. Check that it is not cracked, blocked, or disconnected. Replace if hardened or damaged.
- Check sensor connector: Remove the top or bottom cover (depending on model) to access the pressure sensor module. Ensure the multi-pin connector is firmly seated on the sensor and the main PCB.
- Test with water only: Reassemble, add at least 500 ml of water, and run a pressure program. Listen for the unit attempting to heat and seal. If E5 returns without pressure build-up, the pressure sensor module may need replacement.
Warning: Never block or modify the pressure relief paths; this can create an explosion hazard.
