Possible Causes
Faulty lid position sensor, Misaligned lid sensor magnet, Broken lid sensor wiring, Deformed lid hinge preventing full lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before inspecting the lid sensor.
- Check lid lock status: Close the lid firmly and ensure the handle is fully in the lock position. If the lid feels loose, inspect the hinge and locking ring for damage.
- Locate lid sensor: Many OBH Nordica models use a small magnetic or mechanical switch near the hinge. Inspect for broken plastic, missing magnet, or misalignment.
- Clean around sensor: Remove any grease or food residue that might prevent the sensor from engaging when the lid is closed.
- Test operation: With the unit unplugged, manually actuate the sensor (if mechanical) and listen for a click. If there is no click or it feels stuck, the sensor assembly may need replacement.
- Reassemble and test: Plug in and try a non-pressure program first. If E9 only appears on pressure programs, the lid sensor is not confirming a safe lock.
Warning: Do not attempt to defeat the lid sensor; it is essential for safe pressure operation.
