Possible Causes
Food residue around float valve, Slight residual pressure in pot, Deformed float pin, Lid mechanism jammed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the lid open. Forcing can cause sudden release of hot steam and food.
- Check pressure status: Ensure the steam release valve is in the venting position to release any remaining pressure.
- Gently tap float valve: Using a wooden spoon, gently tap the top of the float valve to help it drop once pressure is gone.
- Allow more cooling time: Wait an additional 10–20 minutes; as the cooker cools, pressure will drop and the float should fall.
- After opening, clean valve: Once open, remove and clean the float valve and its channel to prevent future sticking.
