Possible Causes
Anti-block shield missing or clogged, Cooking very foamy foods at high pressure, Overfilled pot, Valve orifices partially blocked
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the steam path. Turn off the cooker and allow pressure to drop naturally if possible.
- Check anti-block shield: After cooling, remove the inner lid and locate the anti-block shield (small metal or plastic cover over the steam path). Ensure it is present, clean, and properly clipped in place.
- Clean valve thoroughly: Disassemble the steam release valve and clean all passages with warm water and a brush.
- Adjust recipes: Avoid cooking porridge, pasta, or very starchy foods on high pressure without following specific multicooker recipes that account for foaming.
- Respect fill limits: For foamy foods, do not fill above half the pot capacity.
