Possible Causes
Blocked steam release path, Stuck pressure regulator, Excessive food foaming, Faulty pressure sensor calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to force the lid open under pressure. Allow the cooker to cool and depressurize naturally.
- Release pressure safely: Once safe, move the steam release handle to VENT and wait until all steam escapes.
- Clean foaming foods: Avoid overfilling with foamy foods (beans, porridge). Follow Panasonic fill line markings.
- Clean regulator and vent: Remove the pressure regulator and clean all steam paths thoroughly.
- Sensor/valve replacement: If E5 recurs with clean components and correct filling, replace the pressure regulator valve and/or pressure sensor module.
