Possible Causes

Inner pot not seated correctly, Deformed inner pot base, Faulty pot presence sensor, Damaged sensor wiring on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool completely before inspection.

  • Check inner pot seating: Remove the inner pot, wipe the bottom dry, and ensure there is no warping. Reinsert it and rotate slightly to ensure full contact with the central heating plate.
  • Inspect for foreign objects: Look for rice grains, foil, or debris between the inner pot and the heating plate. Clean with a soft cloth; do not scratch the plate.
  • Check pot type: Use only the original Panasonic inner pot designed for your model. Third-party or deformed pots may not trigger the pot sensor correctly.
  • Sensor inspection: With the unit unplugged, remove the bottom cover (usually several screws) and locate the pot presence sensor or spring-loaded center sensor under the heating plate. Check for broken springs, bent sensor pin, or disconnected wires.
  • Repair/replace: If the sensor is physically damaged or the wiring is burnt or broken, replace the pot presence sensor assembly or repair the harness. If wiring is intact but the error persists, the fault may be on the main control PCB and should be handled by a technician.
