Possible Causes
Water level below minimum mark, Incorrect cooking mode for amount of food, Faulty temperature sensing causing premature boil-dry detection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool if it has been heating.
- Check water level: Ensure the inner pot has at least the minimum water level indicated in the Panasonic manual for the selected program.
- Correct program: Use appropriate programs for small quantities (e.g., Porridge or Steam) instead of high-heat pressure modes when cooking very small amounts.
- Clean pot and heater: Remove the inner pot and clean both the pot bottom and heater plate. Residue can cause hot spots and early boil-dry detection.
- Sensor evaluation: If U14 appears even with correct water levels, the bottom temperature sensor may be reading incorrectly. Inspect and, if necessary, replace the heater plate NTC sensor.
