Possible Causes
Dirty or worn pressure regulator valve, Damaged valve silicone seal, Misassembled steam cap, Deformed lid seat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of steam. Turn off and allow the cooker to depressurize before disassembly.
- Clean valve: Remove the pressure regulator valve and steam cap. Soak in warm soapy water, then rinse and dry. Ensure the valve moves freely.
- Inspect seals: Check the small silicone seal or ring on the valve for cracks or hardening. Replace the pressure regulator seal if worn.
- Correct assembly: Reinstall the valve and cap exactly as shown in the Panasonic manual. Incorrect orientation can prevent sealing.
- Replace regulator: If steam still escapes continuously, replace the entire pressure regulator valve assembly.
