How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Confirm that pressure is fully released. Gently move the steam release to VENT and wait until no steam escapes.
- Gentle manipulation: With the cooker unplugged and cool, gently wiggle the lid while trying to turn it open. Do not force it with tools.
- Access from underside: If accessible, remove the top cover screws to reach the lid lock mechanism. Manually retract the lock pin while an assistant turns the lid.
- Clean mechanism: Once open, clean the lock pin and surrounding area thoroughly. Remove any dried food or starch.
- Replace lock assembly: If the pin is bent or the spring is broken, replace the lid lock assembly.
