Possible Causes
Misaligned lid, Faulty lid-closed microswitch, Damaged lid hinge sensor wiring, Debris on lid locking tab
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before inspecting the lid mechanism. Never bypass safety switches.
- Check lid closure: Open and close the lid firmly. Ensure the lid is aligned with the body and that the locking tab fully engages. Remove any food residue or rice grains around the latch area.
- Inspect lid switch area: With the unit unplugged, look inside the rim where the lid closes. On many ProCook multicookers there is a small plastic pin on the lid that presses a microswitch in the body. Make sure the pin is not broken and the switch actuator is not stuck.
- Clean and test: Wipe the lid rim and latch with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Plug the unit back in and gently press down on the lid while starting a program to see if the error clears.
- Check hinge play: If the lid feels loose or wobbly at the hinge, the hinge bracket or switch wiring may be damaged. In that case, replacement of the lid lock / lid switch assembly is recommended and is best done by a qualified technician.
