Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main PCB, Moisture under control panel, Failed touch keypad membrane, Faulty main PCB interface
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching the control panel internals.
- Dry the panel: If the panel was recently wiped or exposed to steam, leave the cooker unplugged for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate.
- Inspect for liquid ingress: Check around the display and buttons for signs of liquid entry. Do not spray cleaner directly on the panel; apply it to a cloth instead.
- Internal cable check (advanced): Remove the outer shell or top cover as per service instructions to access the control board. Ensure the flat ribbon cable from the keypad is fully seated and not damaged.
- Test operation: Reassemble and plug in. If E8 persists or some buttons remain unresponsive, the keypad membrane or main PCB likely needs replacement.
