Possible Causes
Faulty Start button contact, Damaged keypad membrane, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Control PCB input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before working near the control panel.
- Check lid and pot: Ensure the lid is closed (if required) and the inner pot is installed; some models will not start otherwise.
- Try multiple keys: If other buttons also fail or respond intermittently, the keypad or its cable is suspect.
- Inspect ribbon cable (advanced): Open the housing to access the control panel and verify the ribbon cable is firmly connected to the PCB.
- Replace keypad: If only the Start button is unresponsive and the membrane is worn, replace the control panel / keypad assembly.
