Steam Release Valve Not Sealing
Steam constantly vents from the steam release valve during pressure cooking and pressure never builds.

Possible Causes
Valve left in Venting position, Worn valve seal, Food residue preventing closure, Damaged valve spring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands and face away from the steam vent. Turn off and allow pressure to drop before handling the valve.
- Check valve position: Ensure the steam release knob or lever is set to Sealing for pressure programs.
- Clean valve: Remove the valve cap and wash it thoroughly. Clear any food particles from the vent path.
- Inspect seal and spring: Check the rubber seal under the valve for cracks or flattening and ensure the spring moves freely. Replace the valve assembly if worn.
- Re-test: Refit the valve and run a water-only pressure test.
