Possible Causes

Defective lid-closed microswitch, Damaged pressure sensor wiring harness, Failed pressure sensor on lid, Control PCB input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the ProfiCook multicooker and allow it to cool completely before opening the lid or removing any covers.

  • Check lid closure: Open and firmly close the lid several times. Make sure the lid is aligned with the body and the locking handle fully engages. Try starting a basic program (e.g., rice) again.
  • Inspect lid switch actuator: With the unit unplugged, look at the plastic tab or metal lever on the lid that presses the lid-closed microswitch. If it is bent, cracked, or worn, the switch may not be triggered. Gently bend it back into position or replace the lid handle/lock assembly if broken.
  • Clean around the hinge and lock: Food residue can prevent the lid from closing fully. Clean the hinge area, locking ring, and mating surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.
  • Check for loose wiring (advanced): If comfortable and after unplugging, remove the top cover (usually screws under the lid rim) and visually inspect the small wiring harness from the lid to the main body. Look for broken or pinched wires going to the lid microswitch and pressure sensor. Reseat any loose connectors.
  • When to stop: If the E1 code persists after cleaning and confirming the lid closes firmly, the pressure sensor or control PCB may be defective. At this point, replacement of the lid pressure sensor assembly or main control board is recommended and is best done by a qualified technician.
