Possible Causes
Inner pot not in place or not making contact, Burnt-on food causing localized overheating, Failed thermal fuse or thermostat, Faulty temperature sensor calibration on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely. Do not add water to a hot dry pot.
- Check water and food level: Ensure there is sufficient liquid in the pot for the selected program. ProfiCook pressure programs require a minimum amount of water (typically at least 250–500 ml). Add water if needed.
- Clean the heating plate: Remove the inner pot. Wipe the heating plate and central sensor area with a damp cloth to remove burnt food or starch. Dry thoroughly.
- Inspect the inner pot: Check that the bottom of the pot is flat and not warped. A warped pot can cause poor contact and hot spots. Replace the inner pot if it rocks or does not sit flat.
- Reset thermal protection (if accessible): Some ProfiCook models have a manual-reset thermostat on the base. With the unit unplugged and bottom cover removed, look for a small round thermostat with a red or black reset button. Press gently to reset if tripped.
- Test again: Reassemble, add proper water, and run a short program. If E3 recurs quickly, the thermal fuse, thermostat, or control PCB may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
