Possible Causes
Damaged or hardened silicone sealing ring, Leaking float valve or float valve silicone cap, Steam release valve not in sealed position, Lid not locked properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool before handling the lid components.
- Check steam release position: Ensure the steam release valve is set to the correct "pressure" or "closed" position according to the ProfiCook manual, not on "vent".
- Inspect sealing ring: Remove the large silicone ring from the lid. Look for cracks, flattening, or stiffness. Clean it with warm soapy water, rinse, dry, and reinstall firmly in the groove. Replace if damaged or more than 2–3 years old.
- Check float valve: Press the float valve up and down from inside the lid. It should move freely. Remove the small silicone cap on the float valve, clean it and the valve stem, and reinstall. Replace the cap if torn or deformed.
- Test with water: Add 1–1.5 liters of water and run a pressure program. Watch for continuous steam escaping from the lid area. If steam leaks around the lid, the sealing ring or lid lock assembly may need replacement.
- Further action: If E5 persists with a new sealing ring and clean valves, the pressure sensor or control PCB may be misinterpreting pressure build-up and should be checked by a service technician.
