Possible Causes
Lid temperature sensor out of range, Bottom NTC sensor drifted, Poor contact between pot and heater plate, Firmware calibration fault on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug and cool the cooker before inspection.
- Clean contact surfaces: Remove the inner pot and clean both the pot bottom and the heater plate. Ensure no dents or debris prevent full contact.
- Check inner pot: If the pot is heavily scratched, warped, or has a domed bottom, replace it with a genuine ProfiCook inner pot to restore proper heat transfer.
- Inspect lid sensor area: Some ProfiCook models have a small temperature sensor in the lid. Clean around it and ensure no food residue is insulating it.
- Reset and test: After cleaning, perform a power reset and run a water-only test cycle. If E8 reappears, one of the sensors or the control PCB is likely out of calibration.
- Service: Sensor calibration requires replacement of the faulty sensor (lid or bottom NTC) or the control PCB. This is best handled by a technician with access to ProfiCook parts.
