Possible Causes
Failed clock IC on control PCB, Corrupted firmware, Low-voltage supply instability on logic board, Loose display-to-main-board connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before any internal checks.
- Factory reset (if available): Consult the ProfiCook manual for a key combination to reset the unit to factory settings. Perform the reset and test the timer again.
- Power cycle: Unplug for 15 minutes to discharge internal capacitors, then reconnect and test without using delayed start. If normal programs work but timer fails, the clock circuit is suspect.
- Inspect connectors: With the unit unplugged, remove the control panel cover and reseat the ribbon cable between the display board and main control PCB.
- Surge protection: If the error started after a power outage or surge, use a surge-protected outlet going forward. However, persistent E9 usually requires control PCB replacement.
- Resolution: Replace the main control PCB or display PCB assembly (depending on model design) with a ProfiCook-compatible part if E9 cannot be cleared.
